The new year begins with a significant step forward in water quality monitoring in Poland. As part of our long-term collaboration with Przedsiębiorstwo Gospodarki Wodnej i Rekultywacji SA (PGWiR S.A.), we have completed another installation of a Waterly monitoring buoy on the Odra River, this time near the railway bridge in Olza, close to the Czech border.

This strategic location allows us to better monitor the river’s condition in the southern region of the country. The choice of this site was not random—it is an area where real-time water quality analysis and rapid response to environmental changes are crucial.

📍 Why Olza?

Olza is a town located right on the Polish-Czech border, next to the Odra River. The decision to install a monitoring system here stems from the need to track water quality before it merges with industrial tributaries. PGWiR S.A. aims to obtain precise data on the Odra’s condition before their water joins the river, allowing better control over its environmental impact.

Additionally, photos from the installation show how the area looks after the 2024 flood. Events like this emphasize the importance of continuous water level and quality monitoring in real-time.

💧 How Does the Waterly Buoy Work?

Our fully autonomous monitoring buoy collects and transmits real-time data to the cloud. At this location, the buoy currently measures:

Water temperature 🌡

Electrical conductivity

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 💧

Salinity 🌊

Air parameters 🌬

This allows users to track water conditions and atmospheric data in real-time and respond immediately to any deviations from normal levels. Live data from this installation is available at waterly.cloud 📡📊.

🤝 A Partnership That Matters

This is yet another successful collaboration with Przedsiębiorstwo Gospodarki Wodnej i Rekultywacji SA (PGWiR S.A.). We are proud to develop a long-term partnership and jointly build a modern water monitoring system in Poland.

A big thank you to PGWiR S.A. for their trust and support in this project! 💪

🔜 What’s Next?

Our goal is to continue expanding the monitoring network, providing reliable data on the condition of Polish rivers and water reservoirs. More installations are on the way! 🚀
